Relationships are the only glue that hold people together or if the glue is unstuck the relationship falls apart. In a relationship with God, sin is what unsticks the glue in our relationship with him. Anything contrary to his Word is disobedience against God. Yet God is merciful. He gives us time to come around and see ourselves in the mirror. Like the prodigal son who lost his way, (Luke 15:11-32) we will come home. If we are searching for real authentic relationship with God, through his son Jesus, we will find truth. We will see ourselves for who we really are in our frailty and weakness. That’s the reason for the sacrifice of our Saviour’s life and his bodily resurrection. John 20:26-30 tells us that Thomas doubted that Jesus had truly risen from the dead. Jesus challenged him when he said ”place your finger in the place where the nails went into my hands. Take your hand and stick it into my side.”. No wonder Thomas had responded to Jesus by calling him “ MY LORD and MY GOD”. Thomas knew Jesus was God in the flesh who had been born for our sake. Jesus was truly alive! His blood was shed for our and he was victorious over the grave. He conquered sin and death for you and me. Don’t waste the free gift of his love and grace by staying in a place that Jesus has already set you free from.
